Community Song        Blessed Be Your Name

Blessed be Your name in the land that is plentiful;
Where the streams of abundance flow,
Blessed be Your name.
Blessed be Your name when I’m found in the desert place;
When we walk through the wilderness,
Blessed be Your name.

Refrain:
Every blessing You pour out I’ll turn back to praise;
When the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say…
Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be Your name;
Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be Your glorious name.

Blessed be Your name when the sun’s shining down on me;
When the world’s all as it should be,
Blessed be Your name.
Blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering;
Though there’s pain in the offering,
Blessed be Your name.  Refrain

You give and take away,
You give and take away,
My heart will choose to say,
“Lord, blessed by Your name”

Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be Your name;
Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be Your glorious name.

Greeting
The grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
And also with you.

Community Song        Lord of All Hopefulness

1. Lord of all hopefulness, Lord of all joy,
Whose trust, ever child-like, no cares can destroy,
Be there at our waking, and give us, we pray,
Your bliss in our hearts, Lord, at the break of the day.

2. Lord of all eagerness, Lord of all faith,
Whose strong hands were skilled at the plane and the lathe,
Be there at our labors, and give us, we pray,
Your strength in our hearts, Lord, at the noon of the day.

3. Lord of all kindliness, Lord of all grace,
Your hands swift to welcome, your arms to embrace,
Be there at our homing, and give us, we pray,
Your love in our hearts, Lord, at the eve of the day.

4. Lord of all gentleness, Lord of all calm,
Whose voice is contentment, whose presence is balm,
Be there at our sleeping, and give us, we pray,
Your peace in our hearts, Lord, at the end of the day.

Community Song        Give Us Clean Hands                 Sung through two times

Give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another

And oh God let us be
A generation that seeks
Seeks your face
Oh God of Jacob
And oh God let us be
A generation that seeks
Seeks your face
Oh God of Jacob

Gospel             Matthew 13:31-33, 44-52

Message

Community Song        In Christ Alone

1. In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all-in-all
Here in the love of Christ I stand

2. In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Til on that Cross, as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

3.  There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

4. No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
'Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand

Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty; I believe He made the earth and heavens.

I believe in Jesus born of a virgin, I believe He is the Son of God.
I believe in Jesus as teacher and healer that his life was poor and simple.
I believe Jesus heals and forgives; that he was betrayed and rejected; that he fought the power of evil.
I believe that Jesus died, was buried and He rose to life again.
I believe He was taken to heaven; and He reigns at God’s right hand.
I believe Jesus will come back in glory, and will judge the dead and living.

I believe the holy life-giving Spirit is a gift of the Son and Father to us;
I believe the three are one and united.
I believe in the resurrection of the body and in an everlasting life. Amen

Community Song        Jesus Loves Me      ELW # 595

1. Jesus loves me! this I know,
for the Bible tells me so;
little ones to him belong,
they are weak, but he is strong.
Refrain
Yes, Jesus loves me,
yes, Jesus loves me,
yes, Jesus loves me,
the Bible tells me so.
2. Jesus loves me! he who died
heaven's gates to open wide;
he will wash away my sin,
let his little child come in. Refrain
3. Jesus loves me! he will stay
close beside me all the way;
when at last I come to die,
he will take me home on high. Refrain

Communion

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever.   Amen.

Communion
When the pastor lifts the bread and says “This is the body of Christ given for you.” We will eat together. When the pastor lifts the wine and says, “This is the blood of Christ shed for you.” We will drink together.
